In her speech, Gao Ming, Director of CSU, pointed out the importance of space utilization in global development, and said that the training workshop will provide a platform for scientists and researchers from all over the world to share knowledge and exchange experience, and promote innovation and progress in space utilization through deepening international cooperation. CSU also welcome more scientific teams from all over the world to participate in the space science and utilization missions of China Space Station, making important contributions to promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

 

Dong Qi, Researcher at the Bureau of International Cooperation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, pointed out in his speech that the China Space Station, as a national space laboratory, will foster unlimited possibilities and opportunities for international cooperation in the field of space science and utilization. It is hoped that this training will further promote scientific research cooperation on a global scale, share scientific research results, and jointly promote the development of space science and utilization. He also stressed that CAS will actively fulfill its three functions of scientific research, education and think tank, and make greater contributions to the development of human society.

 

More than 50 guests, lecturers and trainees from more than 10 countries and regions participated in the opening ceremony.

Lecturer representative Xin WU, Professor, from Department of Nuclear and Particle Physics, University of Geneva, Student representative, Anwar ALI, Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), Student representative, Abdulrahman ALBADRI, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) also delivered speeches and expressed appreciation for the organization of the training workshop.

 

The 14-day training workshop for countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" aims to give participants an in-depth understanding of the development trend of space science and utilization, as well as China's contribution, resources and opportunities in manned space, promote the ability of developing countries in related fields, and expand international cooperation needs and resources. It also demonstrates China's sincerity in pursuing openness and inclusiveness in the peaceful exploration and use of outer space and in implementing the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind.

 

Supported by the Bureau of International Cooperation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the CMSA, the training workshop was organized by CSU (the Executive Center of CMSA), and co-organized by the Academic Exchange Center of the China Satellite Navigation Office(CSNO).
