With the safe return of SZ-8, the space part of the space life science cooperation project between CSU and German Aerospace Center (DLR) has ended in success.
In this cooperation project, DLR provided the main body of the payload SIMBOX, CSU is responsible for overall design and provided data link, interface device, as well as project organizing and establishment. In space based experiments, 34 pieces of biological experiment sample were exposed to the microgravity and the cosmic radiation in space. In a total of 17 experiments were implemented on orbit, including 10 experiments by Chinese Scientists, 6 experiments by Germen scientist, and one joint experiment.
The succeed of the Chinese-German cooperation in SZ-8 has opened a door to future cooperation with DLR in space, and also lead to the Army Third Technological Progress.
