The Shenzhou-21 astronauts will take over from the Shenzhou-20 crew, who had lived and worked on board Tiangong, also known as the "Heavenly Palace."
The crew was also joined by four black mice, the first small mammals to be taken to the Chinese space station. These mice will be used in experiments on reproduction in low Earth orbit.

Key environmental indicators of the experimental unit, such as temperature, humidity, and oxygen concentration, are all normal. All four mice can eat and drink normally, with no significant differences in activity status and behavioral patterns compared with the ground control group. Preliminary observations show that the mice have exhibited good adaptation to the microgravity environment, and subsequent experiments will be carried out as planned.
