Taiwan New Party Chairman Yok Mu-ming and his delegation Visited CSU

On the morning of July 31, 2017, Taiwan New Party Chairman Yok Mu-ming led the delegation of “Science and Technology Experiencing Camp for Chinese Youth” and visited Technology and Engineering Center for Space Utilization, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CSU), in the company of representatives from Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.

Director General of CSU, Gao Ming, extended warm welcome to Chairman Yok Mu-ming and his delegation. Gao Ming pointed out that China Manned Space Program has been developing by leaps and bounds in recent years, and has been extended to space science and utilization. Chinese Academy of Sciences has made great contributions to China Manned Space Program and has made dazzling achievements. Gao Ming hoped that this visit to CSU can deepen the campers understanding of the achievements in space science and utilization, and can inspire their interests in scientific research.

Chairman Yok Mu-ming and campers were excited about the contribution that CAS has made to China Manned Space Program. Chairman Yok Mu-ming pointed out that the communication between youth played an important role in cross-straits exchanges, and youth act as the future for peaceful development of Taiwan and Mainland.  “Science and Technology Experiencing Camp for Chinese Youth” is expected to provide an opportunity for Taiwan youth to know more about China Manned Space program and promote communication and cooperation between Taiwan and mainland.

Chairman Yok Mu-ming and his delegation visited the Payload Operation Center and Payload Integrated Testing Hall. These platforms and equipment integrate interactive simulation technology, 3D stereoscopic vision technology, immersion display technology etc., which interpret the concept and complex mechanisms of space science vividly. The current development and future plan of China Manned Space Program as well as the payloads and scientific experiments in Tiangong-II are also presented.

About 30 undergraduate and graduate students attended the camp and by "close contact" with scientific facilities, technologies and scientists, participants had a deep insight into the development and latest achievements of space science and utilization as well as the contribution made by Chinese Academy of Sciences to China Manned Space Program.
